Lermontovsky Boulevard. (Gelendzhik)
Lermontovsky Boulevard is one of the most beautiful parts of the resort promenade of the city of Gelendzhik . Under the shadow of the famous Pitsunda pines, Lermontovsky Boulevard stretches from Sadovaya St., where there is a monument to M.Yu. Lermontov [1] , to the White House hotel complex, where it smoothly passes into Primorsky Boulevard. The boulevard is very beautiful, decorated with beautiful flower beds, sculptures, fountains. On the boulevard a large number of cafes and restaurants. [2]
An important role in preserving the current look of Lermontov Boulevard was played in the 70s by the First Secretary of the Gelendzhik City Committee of the CPSU N. Pogodin . Lermontovsky Boulevard received a rebirth during the last reconstruction of the Gelendzhik embankment after the desolation of the 90s.

Title History
The name of Lermontov Boulevard is associated with the name of M.Yu. Lermontov . According to some reports, he was in Gelendzhik. It is believed that in September 1837 Lermontov came to Gelendzhik, where then the headquarters of General Velyaminov was located, by sea from Taman . And in the works of M.Yu. Lermontov, Gelendzhik is indicated as the goal of a sea voyage. [3] Pitsunda pines appeared on the Gelendzhik embankment in the 50s, when Komsomol members and youth of the city planted them on community work days. These landings were called Komsomolsky Alleys, but this name did not take root.

Where the snow-white “Arch of Love” stands down to the embankment, Sadovaya St. and passing under it you will find yourself on Lermontovsky Boulevard. In 2012, a fountain was installed on the square near the arch. Lermontovsky Boulevard stretches toward the Thin Cape for several kilometers and goes into Primorsky Boulevard.
