Mariupol Historical Library named after Grushevskogo - the library of the city of Mariupol .
In 1958, the library first opened in the premises of the Moryakov recreation center. In 1984, due to the expansion of circles, the library was transferred to the port hostel building.
From 1984 to 1992, the library had the status of the Mariupol Inter-Union Library of the central library system, playing the role of the head library of the trade union system of the city, and united the book institutions of the ports of the Sea of Azov. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, centralized systems ceased to exist. By the decision of the city executive committee, the library was renamed into the city historical library named after Grushevsky.
The library has the funds of the trade union system, and now books are being compiled based on their library status: historical and local history literature, history of religion and economics, world history, history of art, law, history of Russia and Ukraine. The funds of the historical library include about 30 thousand books, as well as periodicals.
About 5 thousand readers visit the library annually.
In 2003, the library moved to the hostel of the port and occupied areas on short-term lease terms through the regional branch of the State Property Fund.
