Baikal (theater)

The Buryat State National Theater of Song and Dance "Baikal" ( burya . Buryaad Ulasai Duu hataray "Baigal" theater ) is a professional theater in Ulan-Ude that presents songs, music and dances of Buryats , Mongols and other peoples of Asia.

History

The theater (originally an ensemble) was created in 1939 to the decade of literature and art of the Buryat-Mongol Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in Moscow , as part of the Buryat State Philharmonic. To prepare the Buryat artists in Ulan-Ude came the leading cultural workers of the USSR. The created orchestra of Buryat folk instruments was led by Isidor Ryk , the choreographer was Igor Moiseev . The first decade of the Buryat-Mongolian art and literature took place on October 20-30, 1940, where the design of the ensemble "Baikal" took place. In 1942, the ensemble was given the status of a state. Contribution to the formation and development of the collective was made by such artists of Buryatia as Bau Yampilov , Zhigzhit Batuev , Sergey Manzhigeev , M. S Arsentyev, T.K. Glazer and many others.

The ensemble toured in many countries of Europe and Asia, participated in the Second Decade of Buryat Art and Literature in Moscow (1959), the Days of Literature and Art of the Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in Moscow (1973, 1983), the Days of Culture of Buryatia in Novosibirsk (1987) and Kiev (1993) . The Baikal ensemble is a laureate of the All-Union and All-Russian competitions (1957, 1967, 1970), awarded the Prize of the Buryat Regional Committee of the Komsomol. The ensemble was awarded the medal of the Mongolian People's Republic “Nairamdal” (“Friendship”).

In 2001, the ensemble in the status of the Buryat State National Theater of Song and Dance “Baikal” left the Buryat State Philharmonic Society.

Since 2005, there has been a modern theater created by combining three groups - the Baikal ensemble, the Buryat folk instrument orchestra and the Badma Seseg dance theater. Since 2008, the theater has been holding the International Festival "Night of Yohor ", is the organizer of the 1st International Festival of Ancient Classical Dances "Flower of Baikal" in 2008. The theater took part in the All-Russian festival-marathon "Songs of Russia" (2007-2008).

Victory in the TV show "Everybody Dance!"

In the spring of 2017, the theater team took part in the show “ Everybody Dance! ” On the Russia-1 television channel, in the final of which it won first place [1] .

During this competition, theater artists performed vogue, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, waltz, and Chinese dance with fans. In the final of the show, the judges selected three of the best dance groups, of which the audience already chose the winner. According to the results of the audience voting, the Baikal Theater won.

The artists of the theater were awarded the “Everybody Dance!” Cup and a certificate for a million rubles. [2]

On June 20, 2017, by the decree of the head of the Republic of Buryatia, several dancers of the Baikal Theater were awarded the title of Honored and People's Artists of Buryatia. [3]
