Ray Parker, Jr. ( born Ray Parker, Jr. , born May 1, 1954) is an American guitarist, composer and music producer . Best known as the author and performer of the song “ Ghostbusters ” from the movie “ Ghostbusters ” [1] , which in 1984-1985 led the charts in the United States, Canada, France, Spain and several other countries.

The AllMusic music site characterizes Ray Parker Jr. as a “session musician, R&B singer and leader of the Raydio band who is most remembered for the main theme of the movie Ghostbusters that became a smash hit ” [1] .
Parker also had hits published on behalf of his band Raydio (sold in more than a million copies of the single “Jack and Jill” and “You Can't Change That”) and on behalf of Ray Parker Jr. & Raydio (“Two Places at the Same Time”, “A Woman Needs Love [Just Like You Do]”) [1] .
In addition, Ray Parker Jr. co-authored hits performed by Rufus and Chaka Han (“You Got the Love”, 1st place in the fall of 1974) and Barry White (“You See the Trouble with Me, Spring 1976) [1] .
