Parks of culture and recreation are cultural and educational institutions in the countries of the former USSR and other socialist countries.

Parks of culture and recreation are usually located in settlements on the territory of landscape gardening or forest areas. Large parks in the Soviet period often had their own summer theaters , lecture halls, reading rooms, attractions, dance halls, as well as rental centers for various sports and cultural equipment. In the parks there were shooting galleries, children's camps and sports grounds, in winter - ski centers and ice rinks, children's towns and playgrounds. Boat parks operated on water near the parks.

Parks of culture and recreation carried out mass political, cultural, educational and physical-health work. Here, exhibitions, folk festivals, state and sports holidays were held, shows, performances, concerts and films were organized in summer theaters. The parks also operated various courses and circles, health and sports groups.
