Biography
Alexander Samuilovich Shein was born on February 9, 1933 in Moscow in the family of the administrator Samuil Abramovich Shein (1893-1958) [1] . Since 1954, he worked as an assistant director at the Moscow Theater. M.N. Ermolova , served in the Mossovet Theater in Moscow.
In 1956-1963 he studied at the directing department of GITIS (course of Yu. A. Zavadsky ). In 1961-1962 he was a director in the theaters of Tula, Kazan and Moscow.
The first work in the cinema in 1962 - the second director on the film "Hello, Children" (directed by Mark Donskoy) at the M. Gorky Film Studio.
Since 1963 - director of the Mosfilm film studio.
In 1969 he made his debut as a director - "Family Happiness" (the short story "Nerves").
In 1970, he organized and headed the Sovpolikadr experimental workshop, where the first Soviet widescreen multi-screen art-journalistic films were created. He directed over 20 films according to his scripts. Director of a number of broadcasts on radio and television.
He died on February 24, 2015 at the 83rd year of his life [2] .
