Story

The action takes place in a world called Prestel , which consists of two states that are at war - the Anatole Empire ( Greek. Ανατολή , east) and the Dizit kingdom ( Greek. Δύση , west), separated by a violent air stream - “Grand Stream” , where dominated by a powerful Guild , playing the role of a judge over both states.

In Anatole, in the city of Norikia, two young friends live - Klaus Barka and Lavi Head, who earn their living by courier delivery of correspondence and light cargo. The two of them fly in vanship and since childhood dream of someday crossing the Grand Stream. Once, participating in the races for the Cup of Norikia, they notice a badly damaged one-piece with a wounded pilot and decide to help him. The Guilds star-shaped attack aircraft hunts for the Vanship, and the pilot asks Klaus to deliver his cargo, the little girl named Alvis Hamilton, to the destination. Destination - the ruins of an old temple, where the girl should be taken by Alex Rowe, the captain of the Sylvanas killer ship, who has long-standing accounts with the Guild ...

Main characters

Klaus Barka ( ク ラ ウ ス ・ ヴ ァ ル カ Kurausu Varuka ) is a 15-year-old pilot of the Vanship, a member of the Norikia Aviation Union, which delivers messages and cargo. He and his navigator Lavi Head grew up together. Their fathers were one crew - Klaus father, Hamilkar Barka was the best pilot of Norikia, and his navigator was Lavi's father, George Head. When the Anatole Empire decided to end the war with Dizit, the crew of Barki and Head was chosen to deliver the peace treaty; with them flew the crew of pilot Alex Rowe (the navigator was his bride, daughter of Prime Minister Anatole Juris Bassianus). It was 10 years before the events shown in the series. The attempt to get to Dizit via the Grand Stream failed - the fathers of Klaus and Lavi, as well as the bride of Alex, died. Six months after the tragedy, Klaus's mother also died. Left orphans, Klaus and Lavi experienced a lot together, and this brought them even closer. Obsessed with the idea of becoming a pilot and crossing the Grand Stream, Klaus, along with Lavi, begins to learn to fly on his own. Lavi becomes his navigator, and soon after the first successful flights, the crew begins to receive the first tasks for delivering messages. Klaus became a master pilot. He is very kind, attentive, desperately brave. Persistent in achieving the goal. Very caring towards Lavi, as well as to other girls. Protects Alvis. In the series finale, Klaus and Lavi's dream comes true - they cross the Grand Stream.

Lavi Head ( Jap. ラ ヴ ィ ・ ヘ ッ ド Ravi Haddo ) is the same age as Klaus. Red hair, gray eyes. Her mother died in childbirth, and she never saw her even in a photograph, because their family did not have a camera. Her father moved to a house near the house of Hamilcar, Klaus's father, and they became friends, and Hamilkar's wife, Klaus's mother, raised Lavi as her own daughter. After the death of her father and parents, Klaus, she began to help Klaus with the vanship and its repair, deciding to become the best navigator and cross the Grand Stream with her friend. To save one, Klaus and Lavi had to sell both houses and move to the city. Lavi runs their modest household, takes care of Klaus in everyday affairs and is the mechanic of his vanship. She is kind and sympathetic, but very quick-tempered. Unaware of this, Lavi is in love with Klaus, desperately jealous of him for Tatyana and other girls.

Alvis Hamilton ( ア ル ヴ ィ ス ・ ハ ミ ル ト ン Aruvisu Hamiruton ) is the daughter of one of the four guild houses, Hamilton. Wanted by the Guild, she lived in Anatole with the last representatives of her home. The glorious little girl [2] is the key to the mysterious Exile. As soon as the Guild's place of residence became known, an imperial decree ordered Al to be transferred to the “safest place in the world”, to “Sylvanas.” The pilot Ralph Vensday, who was supposed to deliver Al and her nanny Gita, was attacked by the guild attack aircraft. During the attack, Gita was killed, Ralph mortally wounded, and the warship was seriously damaged. The wounded pilot managed to briefly break away from the attack aircraft and land the car. He handed over the mission and the “cargo”, that is, Alvis, Klaus and Lavi, and then died, trying to distract the guild attack aircraft.

Alex Rowe ( Japanese ア レ ッ ク ス ・ ロ эк Arekkusu Roh:) is a desperate captain who has not suffered a single defeat of the Anatolian vessel for Sylvan special orders, who prefers to act more than speak. However, few people know Alex himself. He is very serious and silent, keeps ice calm in almost any situation. After the tragedy experienced in his youth, in which he lost his bride, as well as his father Klaus, whom he respected very much, he locked himself in and set the only goal for which he lives - to revenge Maestro Delphine for the death of friends and his beloved Juris at all costs . He also wants to get to Exile and destroy it or use it, all for the same purpose - to take revenge on Dolphin and the Guild. Alex himself during that tragic incident escaped from Grand Stream, at the same time he received a deep scar on his right side of his face, which he hides under his hair. If necessary, for the sake of revenge, he is ready to do anything and sacrifice anyone - even his first assistant, Sophia Forrester, although she is one of the few whom he trusts and values. In the end, he commits his revenge by killing Dolphin with his bare hands. Alex himself immediately after that dies from artillery shelling, which Sofia ordered to do.

Sophia Forrester ( Jap. ソ フ ィ ア ・ フ ォ レ ス タ ー Sophia Foresuta:) - Senior Assistant to the Captain of Sylvanas. Being the crown princess of the state of Anatole, she was sent to the ship to observe and control the actions of Alex Rowe, whom she immediately fell seriously in love with. However, Alex does not reciprocate with her, he loves only his deceased beloved. Sophia fulfills Alex's orders accurately and accurately. At the same time, she behaves modestly and respectfully towards the crew. Some time later, she receives a letter from her father with his desire to return her daughter home. There, after his death, she becomes empress, and using her power, concludes an alliance between Anatole and Dizit. A little later, Sofia returns to the "Silvana" to complete the search for Exile, and again becomes Alex's "first assistant".

Tatyana Wisla ( Japanese タ チ ア ナ ・ ヴ ィ ス ラ Tatiana Visur ) is the commander of the Sylvanas combat warship squadron. Belongs to a noble but impoverished family. She studied at the officer academy, but did not go to senior courses, since it was necessary to earn a living for a sick father and mother; she sends all her salary to them. Although Tatyana is a sweet and kind girl in her heart, she is very impregnable and arrogant with those around her, speaking bluntly and sharply about others; because of this, the mechanics of “Sylvanas” jokingly call her “princess” among themselves. She really likes Klaus, but she hides it. In turn, Moran, an infantryman, at first was not indifferent to her. Later Tatyana, inspired by the example of Klaus, decides to be a pilot of the Vanship, and not an officer-commander of the squadron.

Moran Shetland ( モ ラ ン ・ シ ェ ト ラ ン ド ) is an infantry soldier who has taken part in many battles against Dizit on various ships of Anatole. It has many awards for courage. In fact, he had only one battle left to advance in service and leave the shooting lines. However, the circumstances are such that he has to join the crew of Sylvanas and become a mechanic. There, Moran falls in love with Tatyana, but soon realizes that they are not destined to be together. He later leaves the Silvana and returns to the infantry again; participates in a secret operation to return the Claudian engines and free the world of Prest from the oppression of the Guild. Performing this operation, Moran meets Dunya from the Dizit fleet. They fall in love with each other, and Moran asks to transfer her to the ship Sylvanas with him, after all is over. Dunya agrees. The operation ends in success - they return the engines. But in the process, Moran is seriously injured, so he is considered dead. However, the epilogue shows that he survived and lives with Dunya on a farm with her brothers and sisters. At the beginning of the story, he stands up for Klaus and Lavi and actually saves them.

Dio Eraklea ( Jap. デ ィ ー オ ・ エ ラ ク レ ア Dio Erakurea ) is the younger brother of Maestro Dolphin, heir to the throne of the Guild. He is sixteen years old. He lands on Silvana, trying to get rid of his sister's tyrannical custody. Unlike Maestro Delphine, Dio is very occupied with everything connected with people; he is especially interested in Klaus, whom he nicknamed "Immelman" [3] . At first it makes an unpleasant impression, because it behaves like a spoiled child, taking almost nothing seriously, constantly teases Klaus. However, he has a good heart, he is an excellent pilot and a good friend, although rather strange in communication. After returning to the Guild and “ brainwashing ”, carried out by order of the Dolphins, he lost his mind and disappeared in the “Grand Stream” [4] .

Alicia Aigrue ( ア リ ス テ ィ ア ・ ア グ リ ュ ー Arisutia Aguryu :) is Tatyana’s classmate at the academy and her best friend, the navigator of her wanship. Very executive. He is interested in everything that “happens in the sky”, but often hides his feelings from others.

Luciola ( Jap. ル シ オ ラ Rusiora ) is a member of the Guild, a martial artist and personal bodyguard of Dio, who was assigned to this in early childhood, accompanied his friend and master everywhere. On the orders of the Maestro Dolphins, he spied on Dio at one time (it was he who informed Dolphin that Dio was on Sylvanas), but when he had to choose between allegiance to Dolphin and saving Dio, he chose the latter. He handed the insane Dio in charge of Klaus and helped both of them escape from the guild ship. Later, he kills the bodyguards of Dolphins, sent in pursuit of the prince, and asks the Maestro to return Dio's reason, but she kills him.

Maestro Dolphin Eraklea ( マ エ ス ト ロ ・ デ ル フ ィ ー ネ ・ エ ラ ク レ ア Maesutoro Darufine Erakurea ) - Maestro Guilds; received this title at the age of fourteen as a result of civil strife among the ruling clans, during which the ruling house of Bassianus, as well as the supporting houses of Dagobell and Hamilton, were expelled, and the house of Eraclea began to rule the Guild. She is obsessed with the idea of absolute power and considers heaven to be her property, wants to subjugate Exile, the only force not yet controlled by it. Dolphin is arrogant, oppressive and deeply despised by people. He loves roses. Killed (strangled) by Alex a few seconds before the destruction of the Guild ship on which they were.

World Description

The Prestel is something like an hourglass : in two areas there are two countries - Anatole and Dizit, and where the hourglass is intercepted, there is the Grand Stream ( Grand Stream ), which divides the Prest.
As far as one can guess, the Grand Stream is of artificial origin; he was formed in order to hide the “ Exile ”. Because of the “Grand Stream”, the circulation of the atmosphere between both parts of the Prestell practically disappeared, and this led to disastrous consequences for their climate . Once, the Guild had special weather control mechanisms [5] , but after Maestro Dolphins came to power, these mechanisms, which were no longer being monitored, gradually failed, and as a result the change of seasons in Prester completely stopped. At present, the Anatole Empire is a world of eternal heat and vast deserts , poor in green vegetation. Water in Anatole is of particular value (even in bars visitors are served not alcoholic drinks , but water); clear water is a luxury available to few. On the contrary, Dizit is a world of eternal ice, snow and snowstorms. Extreme weather conditions constantly provoke large-scale hostilities between the two countries, the war for a "place under the Sun", in the literal sense of these words. The role of the aggressor is usually Dizit, which, due to the ever-increasing frosts, has become completely unsuitable for life.

The neutral side of the conflict is the Guild . A guild is a powerful faction that holds all air movements in an iron fist, because it has technologies that are far ahead of the level of both empires. The guild establishes the rules of battle and, if it doesn’t like something, at any time it can withdraw its autonomous Claudian power plant, on which all the large ships of this world fly.
Guild possessions are located inside the Grand Stream. Due to the constant dense cloudiness, sunlight does not penetrate there, therefore, a distinctive feature of guilds is very white skin.
At first, the Guild played the role of the custodians of the Exile, but then it became completely cold for this undertaking and began to “play” with the inhabitants of Prestel.

Guild Fight

First, the ships assemble in two systems and wait for a signal to start the battle. After the signal is sent, the units begin to move towards each other and when they are side by side, a skirmish begins between the infantrymen located in the galleries of the ships. If the losses among the infantry from one of the parties will be more than 30%, then the battle can be stopped by the Guild and the victory will be assigned to the side where the losses will be less. If the shootout does not reveal the winner, an artillery duel begins on the destruction of enemy ships. A fleet that has lost more ships or retreats first is considered a loser.
If the guild attack aircraft themselves enter the battle, their attack cannot last longer than 20 minutes.

Technique and Technology

The main mode of transport on Prestel is huge aircraft, which use special clavid units for flight. The Guild makes these installations, making them in the form of an autonomous module, which is equipped with its own crew and is capable at any moment, obeying the Guild’s order, to separate from the carried ship, thereby condemning it to death.

Vanship is a small and nimble aircraft developed by Anatol’s designers separately from the Guild. Symbolizes the freedom of the mind from the guild monopoly. Works on a bunch of "claudium-water." It looks like a cross between a racing car and a 30s airplane. It is mainly used for the delivery of mail and light goods, but later they begin to use it for military operations.

Sturmovik (Star-shaped) is a high-tech Guild fighter, small in size (slightly smaller than the one-wing), but very maneuverable. It has the shape of a four-beam star. It is equipped with various combat systems (navigation, communications, detection, surveillance, etc.), information from which is transmitted directly to the guild’s observation ship. Can transform into a walking insect-like robot. Part of the attack aircraft is controlled automatically .

Silvana is a combat dreadnought secretly built by the government of Anatole using guild technology. The Guild has no control over the Sylvanas engine, which gives the latter a colossal advantage in battles against Dizit and equalizes the chances against the Guild itself. The captain of the ship is Alex Rowe.

“Urbanus” is a type of powerful battle cruiser of the Anatole Empire, designed for both long-range and close combat (for this, it has special cables with boarding hooks, and on the wings there is a kind of chainsaw designed to ram and cut boards of enemy ships).

Claudius - a crystal that partially dissolves in water; has a blue flickering fluorescent color.
