The Openbravo project appeared in 2006 as a fork of the Compiere project, focused on working online and having a simpler and more user-friendly interface than Compiere.
At the moment, Openbravo is used by many companies in the field of distribution of products, the provision of services and production.
In 2006, the Openbravo project received the EIBT Award as a high-tech innovative business project. This award was established by ANCES, the Spanish National Center for the Business Innovation Association.
In 2006, the Openbravo project received Class A funding from the SODENA Foundation, which specializes in financing promising projects for the Spanish economy.
In 2007, the Openbravo project acquired the Librepos POS system .
With the release in February 2008 of Openbravo POS version 2.00, the possibilities of organizing a front office for collecting information at points of sale for its further transmission and processing in the Openbravo ERP system were realized .
In May 2014, Openbravo ERP was renamed the Openbravo ERP Platform, which changed its name to the Openbravo Business Suite in May 2015.
System Architecture
Openbravo works through the web interface. The server can be installed on Windows NT 5.0+ or Linux .
Additional software required: Jakarta Tomcat , Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0, PostgreSQL 8.1.4 or Oracle Database 10g release 2 or MySQL [ specify ] , and Apache Ant 1.6.5.
