Biography
Minna Brozovsky was born on July 14, 1877 in the family of the working man Friedrich Yodik at the Mansfeld copper mines. In 1897, she married a miner from a mine. In 1903, her husband died in an accident and Minna was left alone with her three young sons. In 1905, he met his second husband, Otto Brozovsky.
In 1933-1945, together with her husband, Otto became famous for keeping the banner from Krivoy Rog. In 1929, Otto Brozovsky accepted the flag as a sign of friendship with the Soviet miners at the Kh. F.E. Dzerzhinsky Krivoy Rog . Behind the banner, a real Nazi hunt began — several attacks were made on communist meetings accompanied by victims. Under these conditions, the Brozovsky family hid the banner. Otto Karlovich himself was thrown into prison, where he was forced to say the place of the cache [1] . After the refusal of Otto Brozovsky, Minna was captured, but she did not say anything either.
In July 1945, she met with the Banner of Krivoy Rog division of the Red Army. Army Commander Colonel-General Ivan Ignatievich Yakubovsky presented the Order of the Red Banner of Labor to Minna [2] . The moment of the meeting of the Soviet liberators was captured in the 1953 film by German artist Franz Karl Köthe .
She raised six sons. Member of the Society of German-Soviet Friendship . Minna Brozovsky died on February 17, 1965, and was buried in the town of Gerbstedt .
