History

BAZ-A079.14

The automobile plant was created on the basis of the previously existing UkrVolgaTechservice enterprise, which assembled GAZ cars and trucks.

In 2002, the company began cooperation with the Indian automobile company Tata Motors , and the production facilities of the plant were redesigned for the licensed assembly of TATA medium-sized trucks for the Ukrainian market.

On May 24, 2002, the first BAZ A079 model bus assembled at the plant was presented. The bus was developed by the Scientific Research Institute " Ukravtobusprom " on the TATA LPT-613 /38 chassis from components of Indian and Ukrainian production (the engine, chassis, optics and front mask were provided by the Indians, and the body and other components were invented and implemented by the Ukrainian side). The cost of the bus was set at 23 thousand US dollars [1] .

In early October 2002, mass production of the first model of the bus, the BAZ A079 Etalon, began [2] .

In 2003, the plant produced 416 buses [3] .

In the second half of 2004, the plant began participating in the state program of Ukraine “School Bus” [4] . In the course of the program, BAZ implemented its own versions of the BAZ A079 school bus - the standard version, the elongated version and the modification of the bus with space for a student with limited mobility.

In 2004, the plant produced 456 buses [3] .

In 2007, the plant produced 2080 buses [5] .

In September 2008, the plant mastered the assembly of BAZ T713 medium-tonnage trucks on the TATA LPT-613 chassis [6] , but the economic crisis that began in 2008 complicated the situation of the enterprise and caused production to stop at the end of November 2008 [7] until the spring of 2009 [8] ] [9] . In 2008, the plant released2464 motor vehicles [5] and completed 2008 with a loss of 3.365 million hryvnias [10] .

After the resumption of work, in addition to buses and trucks on the TATA chassis, the car factory produced a model range of BAZ A148 buses on the Chinese FAW CA6102 D92-1 chassis.

In 2009, the plant did not produce a single bus [11] and completed 2009 with a loss of 56.131 million hryvnias [12] .

In 2010, the plant introduced BAZ A081 buses on the Ashok Leyland Eagle chassis of the Indian automobile company Ashok Leyland and BAZ A0111 Romashka [13] . The plant completed 2010 with a loss of UAH 31.408 million [12] .

In 2011, the car factory released 1395 cars [14] and ended 2011 with a loss of 15.762 million hryvnias [15] .

In January - November 2012, the plant released 1265 cars , but due to the delay in payment by state authorities of Ukraine of buses delivered under the School Bus program in December 2012, the corporation management decided to suspend production from early January 2013 [16] . In December 2012, the plant released another 128 cars [17] .

In January 2013, the plant suspended work [18] and did not produce a single car, but in February 2013 it resumed production and in 2013 it released 810 motor vehicles [19] .

In 2014, the plant produced 110 buses and completed the year with a loss of 22.6 million hryvnias. As of the beginning of 2015, the number of employees of the plant amounted to 207 people - 22 employees less than by the beginning of 2014 [20] . In January 2015, the plant was shut down [21] . In 2015, the plant released 3 cars [22] .

In 2016 [23] , in 2017 [24] and in January - May 2018 [25] the plant did not produce a single unit of automotive equipment.
