Approved by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 12, 1967 .

Regulations on the honorary title "People's Architect of the USSR"

1. The honorary title "People's Architect of the USSR" is awarded by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for special services in the development of Soviet architecture, outstanding creative activity in the field of urban development, for the creation of modern civil, industrial and rural architectural complexes, buildings and structures that have received popular recognition.

2. The assignment of the honorary title “People's Architect of the USSR” is made upon the proposal of the Gosstroy of the USSR, the State Committee for Civil Engineering and Architecture under the Gosstroy of the USSR and the board of the Union of Architects of the USSR.

3. Persons awarded the title of "People's Architect of the USSR" shall be awarded a letter of honor from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

4. The deprivation of the honorary title “People's Architect of the USSR” can only be done by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. With the idea of ​​deprivation of this title, the court, Gosstroy of the USSR, the State Committee for Civil Engineering and Architecture under the Gosstroy of the USSR and the board of the Union of Architects of the USSR may enter the Presidium of the Supreme Council.

Description of the People's Architect of the USSR badge

The breastplate “People's Architect of the USSR” is made of tombac with gilding and has a quadrangular shape in the form of a cartouche with the size of the base with an eye 22.5 mm * 23.5 mm.

In the central part of the sign is the inscription "People's Architect of the USSR", under it is a relief image of a sickle and a hammer. The sign is not bordered. All images and inscriptions are convex.

The breastplate with the help of an eye and a link is connected to a gilded rectangular block 18 mm * 21 mm in size. At the base of the block is an image of laurel branches. Its upper part is covered with a red moire ribbon. On the back, the shoe has a pin for attaching the mark to clothing.
