Biography
Georgy Kuzmich Suvorov was born on April 11 (according to other sources - March 29) [2] [3] 1919 in the village of Abakansky in the Yenisei province (now Krasnoyarsk Territory ), there were Khakasses in the family on the maternal side. Comes from a poor peasant family, parents died early, the future poet and his sister were brought up in an orphanage.
In 1933 he entered the Abakan Pedagogical School, which did not graduate for material reasons (it was necessary to help his sister), in 1937 he left to work in the village of Bondarevo in the Beysky district of Khakassia as an elementary school teacher. At this time, Suvorov became acquainted with the Siberian poet Ivan Eroshin , who had a noticeable influence on the budding poet. Living in Bondarevo, Georgy Kuzmich enjoys folklore, writes poems and plays. [four]
In 1939 he entered the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical Institute at the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature, and began studying in the literary association at the newspaper Krasnoyarsk Worker. However, from the first year, Georgy Kuzmich has been called up for military service in the city of Omsk . Here, in Omsk, Suvorov makes his debut in print with his poetic works, is actively involved in the literary life of the city. One of the mentors of the young poet becomes Omsk master Leonid Martynov . [five]
At the end of September 1941, Georgy Suvorov was sent to the front. Starting the Great Patriotic War, an ordinary Red Army soldier, he rose to the rank of lieutenant. He spent the first months of the war in the ranks of the illustrious Panfilov division, was wounded in a battle near Yelnya, but from the beginning of 1942 he was back in service. After the hospital, in the spring of 1942, he was transferred to Leningrad, where he commanded a platoon of anti-tank rifles of the 45th Guards Rifle Division and worked in the divisional newspaper Za Rodina. Around this time, selections of his poems were published in the magazines Zvezda and Leningrad. [6] Awarded the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad" [7]
Died of his wounds on February 13, 1944 in the area of the village of Krasnenka of the Narva district of the ESSR after the battles for the Narva bridgehead [8] . He was buried near the place of death.
During the construction of the Narva reservoir, the remains of Georgy Suvorov were transferred to a mass grave in the city of Slantsy, Leningrad Region.
Awards and Prizes
Georgy Kuzmich Suvorov posthumously admitted to the USSR Writers Union. In 1968, Georgy Suvorov was awarded the memorial medal of the N. Ostrovsky competition for the book of poems “The Word of the Soldier”. [9]

On a mass grave in the city of Slantsy , where the remains of Georgy Kuzmich Suvorov are buried, the lines of one of his poems are broken:

Bibliography
During the life of George Kuzmich Suvorov, his poems were published only in periodicals, the poet did not have his own books. Only posthumously published the collection "The Word of the Soldier" (Leningrad, 1944), which incorporated the best works of the author. In the future, this book was reprinted twice - in 1954 (Leningrad newspaper, magazine and book publishing house) and in 1970 (publishing house Young Guard), both editions came out with a foreword by frontline poets Nikolai Tikhonov and Mikhail Dudin .
In 1966, another posthumous collection was published - “Sonnets of Anger” [10] .
