Biography
Originally studied painting in his native Baltimore. In 1845 he took part in the annual exhibition at the National Academy of Design in New York . Then he went to Europe.
In 1851 he graduated from the Dusseldorf School of Art . Apprentice Carl Ferdinand Zone . He lived in Germany for six years, then visited Paris and London .
Engaged in creative activities in Europe.
He died of an overdose of morphine in London at the age of 30.
Creativity
The author of genre paintings, portraits and illustrations. During his short but fruitful career, he created at least 20 canvases, well-known, at one time, thanks to participation in exhibitions in Europe and America. Took a prominent place in the list of famous American artists.
