Leonov, Boris Fedorovich

Boris Fedorovich Leonov (July 24, 1900, the village of Lyudskoye , Oryol Province - March 14, 1977, Omsk ) - Russian literary critic and journalist, theater scholar. He was twice convicted in Omsk (in 1944 and 1958) under a political article ( 58.10 ) for his literary works.

Biography

Rod in the family of the priest. He studied at the Oryol Theological School and the Oryol Theological Seminary (1914-1918), where he wrote his first poems. Member of the Civil War on the side of the Reds. Member of the RSDLP (b) since 1918.

In 1920-1922 he studied at the Orel Proletarian University at the socio-political department, participated in the work of the Turgenev scientific and literary society. After demobilization in 1923 he worked in various positions at the train. , was a propagandist in the villages of the Moscow region, a school teacher.

In 1929, sent to Western Siberia for party work in the national economy (Novosibirsk, Leninsk-Kuznetsk).

In Omsk since 1932, he taught at universities and colleges. Literary editor of Omsk Pravda (1935–1936), editor of children's literature in the Omsk publishing house (1936–1937). For "anti-party statements" in 1937 he was expelled from the CPSU (b). Head of the literary part of the Omsk Youth Theater (1939), the Omsk Drama Theater (1940-1944). It was published in “Omsk Pravda”, took an active part in the literary and theatrical life of the city.

Twice (1944, 1958) for his statements and literary works he was sentenced in Omsk under a political article (art. 58-10, part 1) to 10 years in prison. He served his sentence in the Urals and Kolyma (1944-1953), in exile in Magadan (1953-1955), in the Taishet and Mordovian camps (1958-1965). He was friends with Boris Weil and Mikhail Molostvov . Closely communicated with the writer Leonid Shevchuk .

In 1965, by the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR, he was rehabilitated by both convictions and early released. He returned to Omsk a disabled person who was half paralyzed, but continued to engage in literary creativity (most of the works were not published). The legacy of B. Leonov is part of the Omsk cultural heritage, the history of domestic dissent.

The biography of B. F. Leonov was restored, thanks to the works of the Omsk historian S. G. Sizov , who wrote the monograph (2008) about the fate and work of the repressed writer.
