Biography
Kellah Tosah was the son of the ruler of Wu Hennselaig Donngal poppy Laydknen , who died in 761 [1] [2] [3] . He was a native of the Leinster Sept Wu Dron, whose lands were located in the modern county of Carlow [4] .
Kellah Tosach gained power over South Leinster in 793, succeeding his uncle Kairpre mack Laydknen [5] [6] . In the list of kings Wu Hennselig, preserved in the Leinster Book , Kellah was erroneously endowed with only thirteen years of reign [7] .
In 809, his relatives from Wye Hennselaig raised a rebellion against Kellach Tosah. In this feud, King Kellah died [8] [9] . In the Irish annals, he is mentioned with the title "King Wright Etine" at the place of his residence, located near modern Lochlinbridge [8] .
The successor to Kellach Tosah on the throne of Wye Hennselaig was Katal Mack Dunlinge [7] .
