In 1996-1997, Oleg Boyko played in the Premier League for the Riga clubs Yurnieks and Universitet .

Since 2000, he began to play in the ranks of the RKB Arma club, and according to the results of the 2001 season, Oleg Boyko became the top scorer (with 24 goals) and the first league footballer.
