Content
TitleThe specific epithet of the Latin name is derived from the Greek word for "small bowl", which is associated with the description of the shape of flowers, was introduced by Karl Linnaeus in the second volume of Species Plantarum in 1753.

Dissemination and ecologyThe view comes from the Mediterranean region of Europe and North Africa. Distributed in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, successfully naturalized in North America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In Russia, it is found everywhere in Siberia.
Ordinary habitats are located on wastelands, near roads, near fences and housing, can penetrate the fields and form almost clean thickets. It is found on the sandbanks of the rivers. Because of its ability to penetrate crops, the species is considered a weed.
Botanical descriptionA 15-30 cm tall branching at the base, with erect or ascending stems and a thin taproot. Stems usually bare less often covered with infrequent hairs. Leaves without petioles in the outline of an ovate-oblong shape, twice pinnately dissected into narrowly oblong (about 1 mm wide) and short pointed segments. The edge of the leaves is solid or two or three toothed.
Single baskets are planted on thin stalks, without thickening. The receptacle is convex with bracts over the entire surface. Median flowers are yellow, tubular and bisexual. Flowering lasts from June to August. The fruits begin to ripen from the end of July.
Meaning and applicationThere is information about the medical use of the plant. Harvest ground parts of the plant during flowering. In folk medicine, used infusion of herbs and decoctions of dried raw materials.
The plant is considered poisonous for horses, dogs and cats.
