Aydin Huseynaga oglu Balaev ( Azerb. Aydın Hüseynağa oğlu Balayev ; born 1956) is a doctor of historical sciences, a leading researcher at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

Biography
Born on November 19, 1956 in Baku. In 1980, he graduated with honors from the History Department of Baku State University. He defended his candidate (1988) and doctoral (2001) dissertations.
The author of many scientific works on ethnosociology, ethnic sociolinguistics and political history of Azerbaijan.
