Regional structure

In accordance with NUTS (the standard of territorial division of the countries of the European Union ), the political district is directly located in the small region of Nordburgenland (code for NUTS 3 is AT112 ), which is one of the three small regions of the main region - the federal state of Burgenland (code for NUTS 2 - AT11 ) and is part of the important socio-economic region of East Austria (code for NUTS 1 - AT1 ).


As of January 1, 2016, the fiscal function in the political district is performed by the local territorial jurisdiction of the Austrian state tax (financial) service of Bruck-Eisenstadt-Oberwart , which covers not only the whole of Burgenland , but also the political district of Brook-en der Light of the state of Lower Austria . The official code for the fiscal service is FA38 [19] .


In accordance with the Austrian electoral law for elections to the lower house of the Austrian Parliament - the National Council of Austria ( German Nationalrat ) - the political district refers to the provincial constituency of the federal state of Burgenland Electoral district 1: Burgenland ( German Wahlkreis 1: Burgenland ). At the same time, the political district is included in the Burgenland-Nord regional constituency (code - 1A ) ( German Wahlkreis 1A: Burgenland Nord ), which was formed to distribute deputy mandates in the "first study" [38] .

Political District Structure

Neusiedl am See political district is one of the nine political districts of the federal state of Burgenland .

In accordance with the judicial system of the Republic of Austria, a district court of Neusiedl am See ( German Bezirkgericht Neusiedl am See ) has been created and is located in the territory of the political district . Consequently, the political district is fully under the jurisdiction of the judicial district of Neusiedl am See ( German: Gerichtbezirk Neusiedl am See ) (the judicial district's code number is 1071 ).


In accordance with Article 26 of the Austrian Constitution [39] and in order to freely, directly express their will in parliamentary elections for residents of a political district who have reached the electoral qualification, in 1978 a parliamentary Electoral District 1 ( German Wahlkreis 1 ) was formed.


Also on the territory of the political district is one of the nine district school districts of Burgenland . [40] [41] [42]


Law and order in the territory of the political district is supported by the employees of the district police detachment Neusiedl am See ( German Bezirkspolizeikommando Neusiedl am See ), one of the six district police detachments [35] [40] of the federal state of Burgenland .

In the city of Neusiedl am See , one of the seven regional offices of the employment service of the federal state of Burgenland is located . The Neusiedl am See regional employment office has been forming the Neusiedl am See ( German Arbeitsmarktbezirke ) German labor market since January 1987 [45] , which covers almost the entire political district , with the exception of the political community of Brookkneudorf . The political district of Neusiedl am See was named after the administrative center of the district - the city of Neusiedl am See .

Geography

The political district of Neusiedl am See geographically belongs to the Nordburgenland region and is located in its northeastern part. Currently (2016), Neusiedl am See is the first both in terms of area and population of the nine political districts of Burenland , including the state-owned (free cities) ( German Statutarstadts (Freistadts) Eisenstadt and Rust .

Neusiedl am See is located in the far east of Austria on the border with Hungary and Slovakia in the northern part of the federal state of Burgenland . In the district there is a large part (the fourth largest in Central Europe ) of Lake Neusiedler See and the Austrian part of the National Park Neusiedlersee-Zewinkel . In the north, the okrug is crossed from west to east by the Laita River , the right tributary of the Danube . In the east, the border with Hungary runs along the northwestern part of the Pannonian lowland , and in the south, almost along its entire length, the Hansag channel ( German Waasen , Hungarian Hanság ) separates the territory of the county from the Hungarian copper plate Gyor-Moson-Sopron .

The district stretches from north to south for almost 50 km from the Slovak border in the north ( Kittze community ) to Zevinkel ( German: Seewinkel ) in the south. From west to east, the district extends 33 km from the spurs of Laitagebirge ( German: Leithagebirge ) along the Parndorf Heath ( German: Parndorfer Platte or Parndorfer Heide ) to the Hungarian border.

  • The smallest population community in Potsojnozidl is 0.97% (554 people and 27th place among all communities) of the district population. Ost Autobahn A4 - 66 km

The district from west to east crosses the Ost-Autobahn ( A4 ) motorway Vienna - Budapest . There are also branch points from this motorway to Parndorf (40th km), to Neusiedl am See (43rd), to Weiden am See / Gols (51st), to Mönhof (57th) ) and Nikkelsdorf (64th km), as well as when crossing the border with Hungary at the customs point Nikkelsdorf (65th km). The Nordost-Autobahn ( A6 ) motorway , with a total length of 22 km, starts from the junction at the 39th km of the Ost-Autobahn ( A4 ) motorway east of Brookkneidorf and extends north towards the Austrian-Slovak border. Branch points are located on Potsnoyzidl / Neudorf (9th km), on Gattendorf (12th) and Edelstal / Kittze (19th km), and after 3 km at the international customs checkpoint Bratislava-Jarovce , located a little to the south Kittze (SVK E58 / D4 Bratislava - Jarovce // AUT E58 / A6 Kittsee) , the motorway leaves Austria already under a new name.

Trains on the Ostbahn branch ( German Ostbahn , formerly Wien-Raaber Bahn) from Vienna to Budapest and Bratislava through the Parndorf junction of the Austrian Federal Railways ( German ÖBB ) pass through the district.
