Hansey, Sergey Stepanovich

Born July 13, 1954 in the city of Arseniev (Primorsky Krai). After graduating from high school in 1971 he entered the Geophysical Department of the Far Eastern State University and graduated with honors from the Department of Geomorphology in 1976 with a degree in Geography. In 1981-84 studied in full-time targeted postgraduate study at Moscow University. M.V. Lomonosov under the leadership of the corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences A.P. Kapitsa . At the end of graduate school, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of geographical sciences with a degree in geomorphology and paleogeography.

In the years 1976-81. First he worked as an intern researcher, and then as a junior researcher at the Pacific Institute of Geography, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences . At the end of graduate school, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of geographical sciences, specializing in geomorphology and paleogeography. Since 1984, S.S. Hansey continued his successful research activities at the TIG FEB RAS as a junior research assistant, senior research assistant, scientific secretary. From 1996 until the last days of his life, he was deputy director for scientific work at the TIG FEB RAS. In 2006, S.S. Ganzey defended his dissertation at the Institute of Water and Environmental Problems of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the degree of Doctor of Geographical Sciences on the topic “International transboundary territories as an object of geoecological research (using the example of the south of the Russian Far East and Northeast China)”. In 2004, the academic title of Associate Professor in the specialty "Geoecology" was awarded.

S.S. Hansei actively worked in the Commission on the Status / Use of Lands of the International Geographical Union , where he was vice-chairman. Under his leadership, a number of major international projects have been completed.

The main direction of scientific activity S.S. A Hanseatic is a study of the structure, dynamics and functioning of transboundary geosystems, an analysis of the geoecological state of transboundary territories, problems of sustainable nature management in the border areas of neighboring countries. In his own scientific works, he justified the geoecological content of the concepts of “frontier” and “transboundary” territory, obtained original materials on the specifics of the economic development of transboundary territories in the south of the Russian Far East and North-East of China and the geoecological state of transboundary territories. In the works, new research methods were applied, associated with the interpretation of satellite images, which made it possible to obtain new data on the state of the environment in the border regions of countries.

S.S. Hansei is the author and co-author of more than 150 scientific works, including 2 copyright and 5 collective monographs published in different languages. The main ones are:

In 2014, the book "Favorites" was published (edited by L.I. Hansey and K.S. Hansey), which presents a number of selected works by S.S. Hansea. The first Chapter includes the work united by the topic of determining the absolute age of deposits using the method of tracks of uranium fission. Geographically, they cover different regions of the Far East and the basins of the Caspian and Black Seas. The Second Chapter presents works devoted to the issues of geographical analysis of transboundary geosystems in the south of the Far East and Northeast China. The final part of the book contains the memories of friends and colleagues about joint work, meetings and some moments in the life of S.S. Hansea.

• Ganzey Larisa Ivanovna - paleogeographer , the main directions of scientific work are related to geomorphology and paleogeography. Leading researcher at the paleogeography laboratory of the Pacific Institute of Geography, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The author of more than 170 scientific publications. Candidate of Geographical Sciences.

• Ganzey Stepan Sergeevich - master of sports of international class in swimming, multiple champion of the world and Europe, participant of the XXVIII Olympic Games (Athens 2004) , coach of the highest category of the Center for sports training of teams of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, candidate of pedagogical sciences (specializing in Theory and Methods of Physical Education, sports training, wellness and adaptive physical education ").
• Ganzey Kirill Sergeevich - a physical geographer , is engaged in physical and geographical research of island geosystems (the main objects of research are the Kuril Islands ), the author of more than 90 scientific papers (including 3 author and 3 collective monographs in Russian and English).
