Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 4,089.614 km 2 , of which 3,913.494 km 2 are land and 176.120 km 2 or 4,300% are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2000 census [1] , 750 963 residents of 283 927 households and 192 502 families live in the okrug. The population density is 192.00 people per km 2 . There are 298,159 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 76.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 89.61%, African - Americans - 2.73%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.25%, Asians - 2.62%, Hawaiians - 0.04%, representatives of other races - 2.93 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.82%. Hispanics accounted for 6.77% of the population, regardless of race .
Among 33.60% of the total number of households , children under the age of 18 live, 52.50% of households are couples living together, 11.40% of households are single women without a spouse, 32.20% of households households are not related to families , 26.20% of households consist of one person, 10.40% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.56 people and the average family size is 3.11 people.
The age structure of the district: 25.60% under the age of 18, 8.40% from 18 to 24, 31.10% from 25 to 44, 21.80% from 45 to 64, and 21.80% from 65 and older. The average age of a resident of the district is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 95.50 males . For every 100 females over 18 years of age, 92.10 are males .
The average household income in the district was 47 874 USD , per family - 58 394 USD . The average earnings of a man were 42,261 USD against 30,516 USD for a woman .
