He descended from a noble family of the Mogilev province, his parents were Alexander Semenovich and Elizaveta Andreyevna Yuryevich. In the family, except for Sergey, there were two more brothers - Simon (born 1870) and Alexander (born 1871). Grandson of S. A. Yurievich .

He graduated from the Imperial Alexander Lyceum . Interested in politics, was sent in 1895 to study at the Institute for Political Studies in Paris. In the 1900s, he was a staff member at the embassy in Paris and served as a cultural attaché. Yuryevich also, being a witness of manifestations of psychic phenomena, was engaged in scientific research in the field of psychology and took part in the founding of the French Institute of General Psychology. His service as an attaché of the Russian embassy opened up great opportunities for him to communicate with scientists involved in the study of psychic phenomena, including Flammarion [2] .

During World War I, Yuryevich returned to Russia and participated in the war, but in 1918 he emigrated to France. In 1933 he received French citizenship. In 1937, he received the 1st prize from the Union of Adherents in Memory of Nicholas II for the project of the monument to the “Great Martyr Emperor”. Sculpture Lesson

Since 1903, Yuryevich took lessons in the Rodin studio. Decided to devote himself entirely to art in 1909. Coincidentally, when tired of diplomatic activity, he went on holiday to Switzerland and began to draw there. He worked in oils, watercolors, pastels and made some progress at exhibitions. Then he received a studio in Rome , where, trying to master the anatomy of the foot for painting, he decided to make it from clay . The impression of the volume of the work produced impressed Yuryevich so much that he decided to link his life with sculpture. Returning to Paris, he took a studio in the hotel Biron ( eng. Hôtel Biron ) right above Rodin's studio. In 1924, he participated in the arts competition at the Summer Olympics in Paris [6] .

Becoming an experienced sculptor, he worked on the busts of famous people. So, in 1928, he performed a bust of Catherine and John Stewart-Murray, dedicated to their silver wedding. In 1930, performed a bust of Franklin Roosevelt , then - the governor of New York. Also created a bust of Thomas Hardy , an English novelist and poet. He arranged solo exhibitions in Paris and New York , and exhibited at the Salon of Independent [2] . He taught sculpture at the Guildford School of Art in the 1950s . His work can be found at auctions [7] .
