About the album

The album was recorded in a rented factory in Berlin in October 1969, using a Revox reel tape recorder [3] . The style of the album ranges from free jazz , electronic music and instrumental rock . The music magazine Sound on Sound called the disc “free electronic rock” [3] . The recordings were used as ordinary instruments: guitar, organ, percussion, cello, along with electronic experimental instruments , and using found sounds ; shards of glass, a burning parchment and peas shaking in a sieve. The voice, playing backwards at the end of side “B”, belongs to Edgar Froze: he reads the inscription on the back of the ticket for the ferry from Dover to Calais. A balloon is enclosed in the packaging of the original LP; The 2004 Japanese release on CD uses the same cover, including the ball [4] .

Electronic Meditation is the only Tangerine Dream album Froze, Klaus Schulze and Konrad Schnitzler worked on together. After the release of the reissue on the 2002 CD, it turned out that the recording was attended by previously unlisted cover organist Jimmy Jackon and flutist Thomas Kieserling [4] .
