Pioneer violin

The cartoon is dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War. It tells about the feat of a young pioneer who gave his life in the name of the Motherland.

The invasion of the German invaders is accompanied by the leitmotif of the song “ Ah, my dear Augustine, ” popular in Germany, which one of them plays on the harmonica, a German machine gunner on the tank tower, who is trying to get the young patriot to play his violin. In response to this, the pioneer begins to play the Internationale and dies, defeated by the fascist's machine gun burst.

At the end of the film, Soviet pioneers bow their heads in memory of a young musician hero.

Although not officially confirmed, the cartoon was probably inspired by the death of the pioneer hero Musi Pinkenson , who was shot by the Germans with his family in November 1942 - before the execution, the 11-year-old Pinkenson played the Internationale on his violin, for which he immediately killed on the spot.

In the 2000s, it was released on VHS by the same studio in the collection “The Country of Pioneer” along with cartoons: “ The Adventures of Red Ties ”, “ The Tale of the Boy-Kibalchish ”, “ Eaglet ”, “ Song of the Young Drummer ” and “ Aurora ”.

• 2015 - May film screening in the Nagornaya gallery - Subject of the show: Animation and war, pioneer heroes. The audience is a preparatory group for kindergarten and younger students ^[2] .
