At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, she became a silver medalist on the uneven bars. In addition, at these Olympics, the Chinese team won the bronze medal in the team championship, but later, when it turned out that one of the Chinese team members, Dong Fangxiao , was under the legal age, this medal was removed from them and given to the US team .

Earlier at the 1999 World Championships she became a champion on a log and a bronze medalist on uneven bars.
