Tobantilla montonera (lat.) Is a type of German wasps (velvet ants) of the genus Tobantilla from the subfamily Sphaeropthalminae (tribe Sphaeropthalmini ). Endemic of South America [1] .

Description
The length of the light brown body is from 3 to 5 mm (yellow markings on the abdomen). The chest is longer than its width, covered with golden bristles from above. Eyes almost round. The dorsal surface of the mesosome (in profile view) is flat or concave and well developed scutellar scales; the upper and posterior surfaces of the propodeum are mutually more or less perpendicular and are usually separated by lateral transverse carinae; white spurs are white, lighter than the legs and legs; the first metasomal segment is clearly knotty and narrowed at the back. They have 6-segmented mandibular and 4-segmented lower-labial palpi. Spurs Formula: 1-2-2 [1] [2] .
The species validity status was confirmed during a generic audit in 2011 by American entomologists Kevin A. Williams and James Pitts , both from the University of Utah , Logan, Utah, and South African hymenopterologist Denis Brazers ( Denis J. Brothers ; University of KwaZulu-Natal , Pietermaritzburg , Scottsville , South Africa ) [1] .
