Biography

Vladimir Teplukhin was born in Moscow on July 13, 1957 . From 1971 to 1974 he studied at the Moscow Secondary Art School No. 1 named. V.A. Serov (class of V.A. Geraskevich). [one]

In the 1970s, Teplukhin belonged to the Beliutin school, sharing the aesthetics of the “avant-garde figurative”. He was interested in “semantics,” the likening of painting to a sign system, a symbolic language that can convey ideas of a spiritual order. Later, outside the influence of Belyutin , reminiscences of icon painting arose in the works of Teplukhin. [2]

“In the works of the Belyutin school period:“ swollen ”abstract volumes and colorful masses seemed to blow up space, threatening to crack the surface and dissolve the picture frames themselves.”

1981 : acquaintance with M. Schwartzman

1988 - 1991 : work in the hieratic school of M. Schwartzman , development of his own style. “Hieratic art required a well-tested discipline of the artistic method, which was necessary and useful for the spontaneous seeking nature of Teplukhin — a moving balance among beingness and chaos.” [3]

V. Teplukhin died on February 19, 2001
