Postum came from the Italian city of Larin . His father's name was Gaius Vibi Postum. The brother of Postumus was probably the consul-suffix of 8 years, Aul Viby Gabit . In the year 5, Guy served as consul-suffice along with Guy Atheus Kapiton . From 8/9 to 11, he served as legate for the Prophet Dalmatia , where he took part in the final stage of the suppression of the Great Illyrian uprising . In the years 12-15, Postumus was the proconsul of the province of Asia.
