Biography
The youngest (third) son of Barnim III the Great (c. 1300 - 1368 ), the Duke of Pomerania-Stettin ( 1344 - 1368 ), and Agnes von Braunschweig-Grubenhagen. The elder brothers are the Dukes of Casimir III and Svyatobor I of Szczecin.
In 1372, after the death of their eldest childless son, Casimir III, the brothers Svyatobor I and Boguslav VII inherited the Szczecin Duchy. Possibly, he owned the part of the duchy of the duchy over the river Peene .
He was a co-author of the conclusion of a military-political alliance with the Teutonic Order against the Kingdom of Poland . For his contribution to the conclusion of this alliance, he received an amount of 6 thousand guilders from the crusaders. According to some researchers, this amount of money was a rent for the Slupsky land, which the Teutonic crusaders received in possession for 12 years. In 1395, the Duke Boguslav of Szczecin broke the alliance with the Teutonic Order and entered into an alliance with the Polish king Wladyslaw II Jagello against the crusaders.
In 1397, he granted the city of Szczecin the right to mint a silver coin. Three years later, the port city of Szczecin provided loans for the duke in the amount of 1,200 hryvnias for the redemption of land from the German Margraves .
He died at the end of 1404 / beginning of 1405 . He was buried in the castle church of St. Otto in Szczecin . Most likely did not have children, have conflicting information about his wife. According to the Pomeranian chronicler Thomas Kantzov, the Duke Bohuslav Szczecin was married. According to E. Rimar, the German chronicler Kanttsov erroneously ascribes to him the wife Elizabeth of Braunschweig, the wife of Casimir V.
