The Order of Independence ( Uzbek Mustaqillik ) is the highest state award of Uzbekistan .

Content
History
The Mustakillik Order was established on the basis of Law No. 1040-XII of May 5, 1994 . In 1997, the appearance of the order was slightly changed. In 2004 and 2007, the statute of the order was amended.
Regulation
- The Mustakillik Order is awarded to citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan for their outstanding contribution to building and strengthening an independent legal state, ensuring peace and progress in the republic. In exceptional cases, the order “Mustakillik” may be awarded to persons who are not citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- The Mustakillik Order is awarded by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan . The decree on awarding the order is published in the press and other media. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is awarded the Mustakillik Order by the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- Awarding of the Mustakillik Order is made upon the proposal of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairperson of the Jokarga Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the khokims of the regions and the city of Tashkent, leaders ministries, state committees and departments, public associations represented by their republican their organs.
- The presentation of the Mustakillik Order and the corresponding award document is carried out in an atmosphere of solemnity and publicity by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan or on his behalf the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- Persons awarded the Mustakillik Order receive a one-time monetary reward in the amount of seventy-five times the minimum wage.
- Persons awarded the Mustakillik Order enjoy the benefits established by law.
- The Mustakillik Order is worn on the right side of the chest.
- In case of posthumous awarding with the Mustakillik Order, the order, the document on rewarding and a one-time monetary reward are awarded to the family of the awarded.
Description
Type 1
The Mustakillik Order is made of 925 sterling silver, preliminarily coated with 0.5 micron nickel and then 0.25 micron gold .
The order is an eight-pointed star with dihedral rays. Between the corners of the star are beams of diverging rays, covered with ruby-colored enamel. The distance between the opposite ends of the star is 48 millimeters. The diameter of the circle into which the rays fit is 44 millimeters.
In the center of the order is a silver colored Humo bird - a symbol of independence. Background behind the Humo bird, made of colored enamel, symbolizes the beauty and wealth of Uzbekistan.
At the top of the rim framing the Humo bird is a symbol of the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan - a blue musamman with a crescent moon and a star. Musamman fits into a circle with a diameter of 9 millimeters, the diameters of the circles of the crescent and five-pointed star, respectively, are 5 millimeters and 3 millimeters. In the upper half of the rim are twelve human virtues. The diameter of the rim is 31 mm, the width is 5 mm.
At the bottom of the rim is the inscription “MUSTAQILLIK” , covered with ruby-colored enamel. The height of the letters is 3 millimeters.
The reverse side of the order is concave. In the center there is a threaded pin with a nut for attaching the order.
In the lower part, the order number is applied with a concave font of 1 millimeter in size.
The thickness of the order is 4 millimeters.
The weight of the order is 32.5 grams.
Type 2
The Mustakillik Order is made of 925 sterling silver, coated with 1 micron gold and represents an eight-pointed star with two-sided rays. On the surface of dihedral rays there are 46 cubic zirconias with a diameter of 2 millimeters. Between the corners of the star are beams of diverging rays, covered with ruby-colored enamel. The distance between the opposite ends of the star is 57 millimeters. The diameter of the circle into which the rays fit is 52 millimeters.
In the center of the order is a silver colored Humo bird - a symbol of independence. Background behind the Humo bird, made of colored enamel, symbolizes the beauty and wealth of Uzbekistan.
At the top of the rim framing the Humo bird is a symbol of the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan - a blue musamman with a crescent moon and a star. Musamman fits into a circle with a diameter of 10.5 millimeters, the diameters of the circles of the crescent and five-pointed star, respectively, are 5 millimeters and 2.6 millimeters. In the upper half of the rim are twelve rubies with a diameter of 2.5 millimeters, symbolizing the twelve human virtues. The edges of the rim on both sides are bordered by a side 1 mm thick, made of blue enamel. The rim diameter is 36 millimeters, a width of 6 millimeters.
In the lower part of the rim there is an inscription “MUSTAQILLIK” made of red enamel on a white enamel background. The height of the letters is 2.7 millimeters.

Order Bar
For everyday wear, an order strap is made, covered with a silk ribbon of the following colors: in the center is a ruby-colored strip 4 mm wide, then to the side, a white strip 1 mm wide, a yellow strip 3 mm, a white strip 1 mm, a blue strip 2 mm , ruby strip - 1 millimeter, green strip 2 mm wide.
