Career
Dalena Stephens is a graduate of Harker Heights School ( Texas , USA ). In school years, he stood out among his peers attending the basketball section with his incredible leap and good athletic performance. Soon, Memphis Tigers coach Josh Pastner invited him to the University of Memphis student team.
During his four years at the university , Stephens played 129 matches for the Memphis Tigers , gaining an average of 4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 block shots in 13.2 minutes of playing time.
In the 2011/2012 season, Stephens' dunk in the match with the Xavier team was voted Dunk of the Year on February 4. At the pre- draft views in 2013, Stephens broke the NBA record for jump height - both from the spot (101.6 cm) and from the take-off (116.84 cm). However, Stephens was never selected for the NBA draft and went to the Summer Camps, where he played with the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks .
In August 2013, Stephens signed a contract with the Greek Ilisiacos , but already in March interrupted it, having received an offer from the NBA . After playing 10 days for Milwaukee Bucks , Stephens did not receive an extension of the contract and returned to Europe , this time to Turkey , where he played for Anadola Ephesus until the end of the 2013/2014 season.
Stephens began the 2014/2015 season as part of New Orleans Pelicans , but after the end of the pre-season training he was forced to look for a new team by signing a contract with Zenit [1] . In 21 matches for the St. Petersburg team, Stephens averaged 6.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
In September 2015, Stephens was invited to the Cleveland Cavaliers training camp [2] , but was not included in the team’s final application.
In October 2015, he became a Canton Charge player. In 27 games, Stephens scored 8.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 block shots per game on average.
Dalenta ended the 2015/2016 season with Iowa Energy .
In August 2016, Memphis Grizzlies announced signing with Stephens [3] , but in October was expelled from the team [4] .
In November 2016, Stephens signed a contract with Budivelnik [5] . As part of the Kiev team, he became the champion of Ukraine, and was also included in the symbolic five of the Ukrainian Super League [6] . In the Cup of Ukraine he won silver medals and entered the symbolic five of the tournament [7] .
On March 7, 2017, the composition of the teams for the “All-Star Game of the Ukrainian Super League” became known. According to the results of the fans' voting, Stephens was included in the North-East team [8] . In this match, Dalent spent almost 9 minutes, for which he scored 12 points and made 1 selection [9] .
The 2016/2017 season, Stephens finished at the Puerto Rican club Vaqueros de Bayamon . [10]
Incidents
In October 2016, Stephens was arrested on charges of domestic violence. The woman told the police that there was a quarrel between her and Stephens, during which he grabbed her by the neck and knocked her to the ground [11] .
