Located on the western shore of Lake Baikal , 16 km north-east of the marina of Listvyanka . In summer, a hydrofoil boat (type “Sunrise”) goes to the village from Irkutsk through Listvyanka; in winter, a temporary automobile path runs along the ice of the lake. From Listvyanka to Bolshiye Koty, a hiking trail along the coast about 20 km long [2] , a part of the Great Baikal Trail, is arranged.
