Voloshin, Anton Dmitrievich

Anton Dmitrievich Voloshin ( August 16, 1987, Moscow - June 17, 2014 , Lugansk , Ukraine ) - Russian journalist of VGTRK , sound engineer. Killed on June 17, 2014 as a result of mortar shelling during filming in the zone of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Biography

Anton Voloshin was born on August 16, 1987 in Moscow.

From 1994 to 1997 he studied at school number 5 of the city of Ulan-Ude

From 1997 to 1999 he studied at school number 633 in Moscow

From 1998 to 2001 he studied at the gymnasium No. 7 of Khimki ,

From 2001 to 2004 in Khimki Lyceum No. 11.

From 2003 to 2005, Anton Voloshin was the captain of the Khimki KVN team “His People”. He participated in KVN festivals in Anapa and Sochi.

In 2004 he entered the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute , which he graduated in 2011 .

In 2009–2013, he was a sound engineer at the Municipal Institution “Youth Center Voskhod,” Khimki, Moscow Region [1] .

Since May 2013 - sound engineer of VGTRK .

On June 1, 2014, as a member of the film crew, VGTRK was seconded to a territory not controlled by the Ukrainian government.

On June 17, 2014, the VGTRK film crew filming a report on refugees from the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine came under mortar fire near the village of Metallist near Lugansk . Sound engineer Anton Voloshin died on the spot, and correspondent Igor Kornelyuk was seriously injured and later died in the hospital 35 minutes after he was transferred from the operating room to the hospital [3] . According to an eyewitness, during the shelling near Lugansk the mine exploded next to a group of journalists, one of whom was holding a microphone with the logo of the Rossiya TV channel [4] [5] [6] . The journalist managed to undergo an operation, but after half an hour he died in intensive care.

On July 9, 2014, a representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Vladimir Markin said that the Investigation Department for crimes related to the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare of the IC of the Russian Federation charged Nadezhda Savchenko with complicity in the murder of the journalists of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Company Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin. According to investigators, participating in the hostilities in eastern Ukraine as part of the Aydar battalion , she determined the coordinates of a group of journalists and handed them over to Ukrainian security officials. According to the investigation, it was with the use of these coordinates that mortar shelling was carried out, as a result of which journalists were killed [7] .

  • December 15, 2015 the secondary school of the village of Metallist was named after Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin [13] .
  • On June 17, 2016, a requiem rally was held in Lugansk on the second anniversary of the tragic death of Russian journalists of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin
