Biography
Vladimir Vasilievich Simonov was born in 1935 in the city of Kovrov, Vladimir Region.
In 1955 he graduated from the Podolsk Industrial College with a degree in mining technology.
After serving in the army in 1957, he joined the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering . In 1960, he graduated from the Moscow Radiomechanical College with a degree in radio engineering and technology, and in 1964, with a degree in mechanical engineering, at the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnic Institute.
During his work, he went from a design engineer to a leading design engineer. Two products developed by him, APS and SPP-1 are adopted and are mass-produced, and one product is currently undergoing trial operation.
Along with design activities, he is engaged in scientific work.
Awards and titles
- For the great economic importance of his developments, he was awarded the title of Honored Inventor of Russia (see JI) and USSR State Prize laureate .
