Career
At the age of 17, she was noticed by Petra Murgoch, who became her coach [1] .
In 1986, she won the marathon in Tel Aviv with a score of 2:49:32 [2] and the marathon in Pyongyang with a score of 2:37:11 [3] . In 1987, the Karl Marx Stadt Marathon won in Chemnitz with a score of 2:37:15 [4] . In 1988, she won the marathon in Amsterdam with a score of 2:41:56 [5] , and a year later she won the Rotterdam marathon with a score of 2:32:03 [6] (country and track record) [7] .
In 1992, she took 32nd place in the Olympic Games with a score of 3:01:46 [8] .
Six-time Romanian champion in a marathon (1985-1989, 1992) [9] [10] and three-time 10,000 m run (1986, 1988, 1989) [10] [11] . During her career, she set 11 country records [1] .
At the 1993 World Half Marathon Championships, she took 5th place in the individual championship [12] and won the team [13] .
In September 1996, the Romanian Athletics Federation disqualified her for life for doping [14] .

Fate after graduation
After finishing her career, she worked as a track and field coach and activist [1] . On August 24, 1999, she was killed by her roommate, Ion Constandake [17] . She was buried on August 28 in Redu [1] .
Personal life
Since marriage with her coach, Petra Murgochim, she had a son, Petru [1] .
