Career
Maria Tolkacheva was born on August 8, 1997 in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region. She began to engage in rhythmic gymnastics in the sports school Orekhovo-Zuevo near Krylova Valentina Alexandrovna. In 2007, she was transferred to the School of Sport and Economics “Meteor” of Zhukovsky to coach Tatyana Golovina. Since 2012, she has been studying with Anna Dyachenko at the Olympic Training Center.
In 2014, Maria Tolkacheva became the champion of Europe and the world in group exercises.
In 2015, Maria became a two-time champion at the 1st European Games in 2015 , then she won two gold and one silver medal at the World Championships in Stuttgart, simultaneously receiving a license to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
In 2016, she won the European Championships in Holon , and also became the Olympic champion, performing in group all-around in Rio de Janeiro (together with Vera Biryukova , Anastasia Bliznyuk , Anastasia Maximova and Anastasia Tatareva ).
In 2017, at the World Championships in Pesaro, as part of an updated team (Anastasia Bliznyuk, Maria Kravtsova, Evgenia Levanova , Ksenia Polyakova , Anastasia Tatareva, Maria Tolkacheva) she won two gold medals (all-around and three-ball / two-rope exercise) and one silver ( exercise with five hoops).
