His father was Guy Yuni Silan. The degree of kinship of this Silan with other representatives of this family is unknown. Perhaps his cousin was the consul 25 years BC. e. Mark Junior Silan [1] . In 17 BC e. Silan held the post of ordinary consul along with Guy Fournius . Around 24/23 BC e. he supposedly. was the governor of Asia , but this is considered unlikely [2] . There is a version that the son of Silan was a 7-year-old consul Quintus Cecilius Metellus Cretan Silan [3] .
