On the territory of the district there are 39 304 residential buildings, with a building density of about 14.00 buildings per km 2 . The racial composition of the population: whites - 60.86%, African Americans - 37.17%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.46%, Asians - 0.43%, Hawaiians - 0.02%, representatives of other races - 0.36 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.70%. Hispanic was 0.96% of the population, regardless of race .
In the composition of 32.00% of the total number of households live children under the age of 18 years, 45.10% of households are married couples living together, 20.30% of households are single women without a spouse, 30.00% of households households are not related to families , 26.00% of households consist of one person, 10.30% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone.
