monument of architecture (local significance) The Archcathedral Basilica of the Holy Family ( Polish Bazylika archikatedralna Świętej Rodziny ) is a neo - Gothic , three-nave temple of the Roman Catholic Church located in Czestochowa on Kraków Street ( Old Town district ). One of the largest cathedrals in Poland and Europe, erected in 1901-1927 according to the project of Konstantin Wojciechowski, was built on the territory of the former cemetery of 1825-1898.

The temple in 1925 became the cathedral of the Czestochowan diocese, in 1962 it received the status of a small basilica , and since 1992 it became the cathedral of the archdiocese of Czestochowa
The facade of the basilica faces north, to the square of John Paul II (formerly Cathedral). Under the chapel of the Czestochowa Mother of God is the crypt of the Czestochow bishops.
