At the same time, as part of the correspondence course, he received an engineering degree in electrical engineering, then for three years he improved his qualifications in Sweden.

After the railway as a result of the Iranian operation fell under British control as a result of his training in Germany in 1943, Sharif-Emami was arrested for some time as a potential saboteur. After the Second World War, he was appointed Director General of the Irrigation Agency. In June 1950, he was appointed Minister of Transport. After the assassination of the Prime Minister, Haji Ali Razmar becomes an opponent of the new head of the cabinet, Mohammed Mossaddek .

  • 1955-1957 - senator,
  • 1957-1960 - Minister of Industry.

The rigging of the parliamentary elections by the authorities in the spring of 1960 led to the resignation of the current cabinet, Sharif-Emami was appointed new prime minister, but the results of the repeated elections were also rigged, which led to a nationwide strike and the resignation of the government.

In 1964-1978 - President of the Senate and head of the Pahlavi Foundation. Under his leadership, the Fund has significantly expanded its business activities, making large-scale investments in industrial enterprises, hotels and casinos. However, the politician himself was constantly suspected of corruption related to the conclusion of state contracts and investments. In the opposition press, he was assigned the negative label “Mr. 5 percent”.

In August 1978, politics was entrusted with the formation of a government of "national reconciliation": the country returned to the use of the Islamic calendar, opposition members close to the clergy were amnestied. At the same time, the wages of civil servants were increased, which was supposed to compensate for inflation losses. However, the political and economic crisis was growing. Mass demonstrations began in the country calling for the overthrow of the Shah and the creation of an Islamic state led by Ayatollah Khomeini . Shortly after the escalation of violence and the events of the so-called “Black Friday” (1978), the government, led by Sharif-Emani, resigned.

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the politician lived in exile in New York, where he died.
