Beitostølen ( Nor. Beitostølen ) is a village in the municipality of Eistra Slidre in the province (fülk) of Oppland , Norway . Located on the outskirts of the Yutunheimen plateau at an altitude of approximately 900 meters above sea level .

Sport
Beitostoelen is known as one of the most popular ski resorts in the country. The resort has about 320 km of skiing tracks, which are used in skiing and biathlon competitions. The ski season lasts from November to April.
The Beitostulen Tournament is a traditional opening season for the ski season in Norway. Beitostoelen 19 times was the venue for the stage of the World Cup in cross-country skiing , 1 time was the venue for the stage of the World Cup in biathlon (in the 2004/2005 season) , 6 times was the venue for the stage of the IBU Cup . Due to the lack of snow here, the stage of the World Cup in cross-country skiing in November 2011 was held in Shushen [2] [3] .
