Johnny Godro ( born Johnny Gaudreau , full name is John Michael Gaudreau ; August 13, 1993 , Salem, New Jersey , USA ) is an American professional hockey player who plays as the left-hitter forward for the Calgary National Hockey League club Flames ”, which selected him in the 2011 NHL draft in the 4th round under the general 104th number.

Content
Game career
In the 2010/11 season, he played for Dubbing Fights Saints in the US Hockey League [1] . This season, he ended up in an all-star league match and helped his team win the Clark Cup and the U.S. Hockey League title. He also got into the second part of the symbolic league team, received the title "Junior of the season in the USHL ." At the 2011 NHL Draft, he, with his height of 175 cm, became one of the shortest hockey players selected in the draft [2] .
After that, he played in the US student league for Boston College for four seasons.
NHL
On April 11, 2014, Godro received the “Hobby Baker Award”, the prize for the best young player. From here came his nickname "Johnny Hockey" [3] . On the same day, he signed a rookie contract with Calgary Flames [4] .
He made his debut in the NHL in the last regular season match of the 2013/14 season against Vancouver Canucks , in which he scored his first goal in the NHL.
At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, Godro got a place in the main team. In the first six games of the season, Godro could not score a single point, but then in 37 games scored 30 (12 + 18) points [5] . December 22, 2014, Johnny made his first hat-trick in his NHL career, scoring three goals for the Los Angeles Kings , becoming the youngest Calgary Flames player to score a hat-trick, beating Joe Nuindike [6] . January 25, 2015 took part in his first match of all NHL stars .
In the 2015/16 season, he scored 78 (30 + 48) points in 79 matches and became the Calgary top scorer. Also took part in the all-stars match 2016 . October 10, 2016 signed a new contract with Calgary Flames for a period of 6 years and for a total amount of $ 40.5 million. [7]
In the seasons 2016/17 and 2017/18, he became Calgary's top scorer, and he became the first Flames player in 25 years to give 60 assists per season.
International Career
Johnny Godro was part of the US national team at the 2013 Youth World Championships , which was held in Ufa . At the tournament, he scored seven goals, scored nine points and became the top scorer of the US team, and the “star-striped” won the world championship [8] . In the quarter-finals against the Czech Republic, Johnny scored a hat-trick, and in the semifinals he scored a double against Canadians . At the end of the tournament, he was in the symbolic team of the tournament [9] .
In 2014, he was part of the US national team at the adult world championship , held in Belarus . At the World Cup, he scored his first goal in the first match against the tournament hosts, the national team of Belarus . The game ended with a score of 5: 1 in favor of the Americans. Although the Americans lost in the quarter finals of the Czech national team , Godro with 2 goals and 8 assists was in the top ten scorers of the tournament. The best match for Johnny was a game against the German national team , in which he scored four points.

Family
Johnny Godro has a younger brother, Matthew, who also plays hockey and plays for the team at Boston College [21] .
