Crater Description
The nearest neighbors of the Kirchhoff crater are the Shakornak crater in the west; Bond J. Crater in the northwest; Mori Crater in the north; Newcom Crater in the east and Roemer Crater in the south-south-west. In the west-north-west of the Kirchhoff crater there is the furrow of Bond J. , in the north the Lake of Dreams , in the south the Taurus Mountains and beyond them the Bay of Love [1] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 24.4 km [2] , depth 2.59 km [3] .
The crater has a polygonal shape, significantly destroyed. The outlines of the shaft are smoothed. The satellite crater Kirchhoff C is adjacent to the eastern part of the rampart (see below). The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 840 m [4] , the volume of the crater is approximately 370 km 3 [4] . The bottom of the bowl is crossed, in the center of the bowl there is a low ridge oriented from the northwest to the southeast.
