Biography
In 1973 he graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute , specializing in applied mathematics and control theory [1] . He worked in Chisinau and at the same time graduated from the graduate school at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences under the leadership of Anatoly Pervozvansky [2] . Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1978).
Since 1982 - Senior Researcher, Department of Mathematics, Tajik State University (since 1984 - Associate Professor). Since 1989 - in Israel , in 1990-1991 he worked at Tel Aviv University , in 1991-1993 - at the economic department of Bar-Ilan University , in 1994-1995 - at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot . Since 1995 - at the School of Mathematics of the University of South Australia in Adelaide (since 1999 - Associate Professor, since 2005 - Professor). Director of the Center for Industrial and Applied Mathematics at the School of Mathematics and Statistics of this university, professor at Flinders University and Macquarie University [3] .
Major works in the field of optimization theory and control , mathematical economics , linear programming .

- His father, Nochum-Hirsch Leiserovich (Grigory Lazarevich) Gaitsgory (1909–?), Was the Deputy Minister of Light Industry of the Tajik SSR [4] , originally from Nevel [5] . Mother - Sophia Rossinskaya.

- The son is a mathematician Denis Gaizgory . Daughter - Olga Gaitsgory, a doctor in Sydney .
- The second wife is Nadezhda Gaitsgory (Turchin), a graduate of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Leningrad State University .
