Biography
Ernst Dernburg studied the history of literature and theater and defended his doctoral dissertation. In 1913 he made his debut on the stage of the Royal Drama Theater in Potsdam in the play "Journalists" by Gustav Freitag . He worked in the City Theater in Poznan , in 1915-1919 - in the Bremen City Theater. In the years 1919-1923 he served on the stage of Meinhardt-Bernauer in Berlin. In 1923-1924 he performed on the stage of the Munich Chamber Theater, then returned to Berlin.
Since the late 1910s, Dernburg has starred in silent films. He played many supporting roles in the 1920s and 30s, including in the 1931 film Captain from Köpenick. He was buried at the Grunevaldsky cemetery .
