Muhammad Ali al-Khusi ( Arabic: محمد علي الحوثي ; born July 14, 1979 , YAR [1] ) - Yemeni statesman and politician, president of the Yemen Revolutionary Committee (from February 6, 2015 ), de facto president of the country [2] .

Career

Muhammad Ali al-Khusi is the cousin of the Hussite leader Abdul-Malik al-Khusi . Like the whole family, it is part of the Hussite leadership.

Presidency

On February 5, 2015, the Hussites adopted a new “constitutional declaration”, in which, including Muhammad Ali al-Khusi, was appointed president of the Revolutionary Committee .

Al-Khusi delivered a speech at a meeting of the Revolutionary Committee on March 21 stating that Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi lost his legitimacy due to his resignation on February 21, 2015. He also criticized some foreign governments, accusing them of "gross interference" in the internal affairs of Yemen.

On August 15, 2016, he resigned, transferring the powers of the head of state to the Chairman of the Supreme Political Council Saleh al-Samad.

Al-Jazeera Channel reported that as a result of Saudi Arabian air strikes on Sana'a on March 25, 2015, Muhammad Ali al-Khusi was wounded. However, the information has not been verified.
