Biography

Fleveling was born on October 20, 1958 in Presque Isle , Maine , USA .

Studied at a local University of Maine. She studied English literature and history. Has a teacher diploma.

After graduating from the University of Maine, she studied veterinary medicine at the University of Oregon and journalism and ancient art at Georgetown University.

She managed to work in various fields - as a teacher, farm worker, office worker, painter, assistant pathologist veterinarian, jewelry dealer, editor and journalist. I traveled a lot.

Currently lives in California, studies archeology, works on his doctoral dissertation, writes novels.

Family: ex-husband Douglas Fleveling (since 1981), two sons.

Creativity

The first book of Fleveling, “ Revenge of the Dark God, ” was nominated for the Compton Crook / Stephen Tall Award. The novels “ The Traitor 's Moon ” and “ Hidden Warrior” became finalists of the Spectrum Award. At present, Fleveling books have been translated and published in 13 countries. Her works have been praised by such writers as George Martin [3] , Orson Card [4] [5] [6] , Elizabeth Hand , Robin Hobb and Katherine Kurtz . The rights to the film adaptation of the first three books of the series “Night Wanderers” were purchased by the independent film company Csquared Pictures, but filming has not yet begun [7] .

Lynn Fleveling notes that her work was influenced by the works of Ray Bradbury , William Faulkner , Thomas Eliot , Homer , Stephen King , Carol Watts , William Shakespeare , Ernest Hemingway , Mary Reon , Anne Rice and Arthur Conan Doyle . The writer also admires the work of Isaac Asimov , Clive Lewis , Tony Morrison , Shirley Jackson , Alvin White , James Barry and Michael Moorcock [8] .

In her work, the writer often addresses issues related to gender and LGBT . So, Lynn’s reaction to the absence or marginalization in the books of the fantastic genre of LGBT people was the creation of two bisexual heroes in the Night Wanderers cycle [9] . The hero of the Tamir triad is undergoing a change of gender and gender.
