Garry Alekseevich Popov (born December 18, 1934 , Moscow ) is a Soviet and Russian engineering scientist, doctor of technical sciences , academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences , a specialist in the field of space transport systems based on electric missile transport modules.

Biography
- He graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1959.
- He defended his thesis of Doctor of Technical Sciences in 1982.
- In 1987, he headed the State Research Institute of Applied Electrodynamics of the Moscow Aviation Institute (now the Research Institute of Applied Mechanics and Electrodynamics of the Moscow Aviation Institute (Federal State Institution Scientific Research Institute of Applied Mathematics). [1]
- On December 7, 1991, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
- May 29, 2008 was elected an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
