Born in Paris, received a law degree at the Bourbon College [2] , but then decided to turn to literature. From 1823 to 1828 he wrote a number of now completely forgotten vaudevil plays for theaters [3] , including co-authorship [4] . Then he began to work on translations (including translation from Ovid's Latin), and also published several collections of poetry, novels, and museum guides. Since his works did not enjoy commercial success, although some attention was attracted [5] , in 1846 he retired from literature (finally ceased to be engaged in literature in 1848, when his Ovidian translations came out [6] ) and began working in his main specialty, having got a job as a lawyer in the Paris Court of Appeal [7] .
His works: "Essais dramatiques" (1835 and 1837), "Distiques et quatrains" (1837) "Les pas de clerc" (1838), "Les voyages d'un parisien" (1838), "Varietés poétiques" (1844) , “Les lions et les lionnes de la fable” (1846, episode poem from mythology), “Les lauriers et les myrtes” (1847) [8] .
