Klumel Meir ( January 2, 1875 , Vidzy , Coven Province - 1936 , Tel Aviv ) - activist of the Zionist movement and Jewish school education in Poland .

Biography
Born in the family of Abraham Klumel and Zipora Halper (daughter of a rabbi from Rezhitsa ). He received a traditional Jewish religious education in the heder and yeshiva of Vidza , Rezhitsa and Kovno . In 1898 he studied philology at the University of Berlin, at the same time he studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary under A. Hildesheimer . Then he continued his studies in Gottingen . In 1902 he received a Ph.D. from the University of Strasbourg .
Since 1902 he lived in Warsaw and actively participated in the Zionist movement. During the First World War , when Warsaw was under German occupation, he worked at the Joint and dealt with problems of Jewish school education. One of the founders of Tarbut schools. Headed the Tarbut in Poland . In 1917-1924, the chairman of the Zionist organization of Poland, was a member of the Executive Committee of the organization and president of the National Board of Directors of Keren Hesod .
In 1932 he emigrated to Eretz Yisrael . He served as a municipal judge in Tel Aviv and took an active part in the Association of Immigrants from Poland.
